Turtle Festival

The Playa Junquillal Turtle Festival or as we like to call it Festival de las Tortugas is held once a year. The community of Playa Junquillal comes together to learn more about saving the sea turtles and to have a good time enjoying traditional Costa Rica Food and Dancing.

Unfortunately, our pictures were minimal due to the fact that the flash from cameras scares the turtles.

The festival started with a parade, program including local dancing, dinner, a dance, and when the sky was dark, they released the turtles.

Logan had the good fortune of having his very own baby turtle to release and having his picture posted on a website highlighting the festival.

Into Routine

Logan learned to swim

Colby has learned the routine. He's suited himself up and is ready to go.

"Hey, where'd everyone go. I'm ready!"

Not opposed to smiling.

Nor is he opposed to dancing - while he waits for his boring family to pick-up the pace and get out to the beach.

And just because we know you enjoyed that - here's Colby dancing on a different occasion. A good way to pass the time.

Sand Fight!

The results you are about to witness came only after a display of infectious giggling and sand throwing. Some shots thrown at point blank range. The harder the throw the more they laughed. They had sand in their tear ducts but never shed a tear.
