Halloween 2012 Festivities

We started with a fantastic family dance. We brought our neighbor friends that didn't really fit with our Star Wars theme BUT they were dressed up, none the less.
Logan: Darth Vadar
Will: Darth Maul (who lost his mask)
Quinten and Colby: Storm Troopers
Sadie: Princess Leia (with a twist of pink)
Chase: R2D2

Sadie was then off to school to celebrate Halloween. It's so nice to be able to dress-up. Especially when it's a pretty Princess dress. Here she is, teaching Chase (as she often does) to stay away from a busy door way.

Prepping for the Egg Relay Race.
 So poised and careful.
Meanwhile, Chase is breaking into the teacher's cupboard. Seriously! I always know where I can find him. He passes many amazing toys to attend to a set of keys and a lock. His favorite.
No party is complete without treats.
Halloween Eve. Tori arrives to deliver Halloween cupcakes. So delicious and festive. Love you Tori!

The boys each designed and carved a pumpkin.

Sadie received a gift from a friend at school. A Mini Pumpkin.

Will carved his pumpkin at school. Each Grade 4 student had their own pumpkin to work with. Imgaine the amount of pumpkin seeds that could be collected! I took half of them (one large ice cream bucket worth) and baked them - to deliver back to school for a snack. It was much more work than I had anticipated. Thank goodness Will helped with the washing process.

All bundled Up! for the first time in 4-5 years. We have been so spoiled for so long. It kinda hurt.

 Halloween 2012. Pumpkins and all.
And nothing makes an evening complete without a pre dinner appetizer of a green smoothie. Used to counter act the intense sugar consumption about to take place.

The Calgary Alberta Temple

The Theme for October largely revolved around the Calgary Alberta Temple. It was an amazing 3 weeks which will forever be etched in my memory as an amazing historical experience. I traveled to the exact opposite corner of the city at least twice each week. And in the last week I was up there 4 times. Ryan and I volunteered twice each. Ryan being a tour guide. I organized food and was an Usher in the Temple. Each visit brought such an amazing unique experience.

The view is incredible. From the Mountains in the west,

 to Canada Olympic Park South

 to Downtown Calgary Southeast.

Truly amazing.

My favorite quote was from a 6 year old boy. "This room makes me feel like I'm in love with something." And so it should, as it is designed to reflect Heaven.

 Families can be Together Forever.

The Grand Finale of the 3 weeks came with our attendance in the Temple for The Dedication.
It was a special day for each of us. But I felt a true privilege for Logan and Will

We attended with Jon and MacKenzie. They are truly great. It was so nice to share their company for the afternoon.

A 'Once in a Lifetime' Opportunity.
I love to see the Temple.....

Ralph Klein Park

A Day with my Boys on our Trip to Ralph Klein Park for their Grade 2 Field Trip

It was definitely amazing. Built on a wetlands development created by the City. I would really love to visit again in warm climate months.
It was Super Cold when we took our walking tour.

The facility is amazing.

 Our classroom/study area.

A moch set-up of the wetlands and how it was developed.
 The twins group presentation.

The grand finale of the trip was to build a bug! They had to consider whether it was an Insect, Arachnid or Crustacean. They had to consider how it breathes (gills or oxygen), what it eats and how it moves through the water. The wavy blue pipe cleaner is a water jet.

We are Here for You!

We did a trade. 5 kids to the movies with Auntie Jillene and Uncle Derrick) for one baby boy named Declan. Chase embraced the opportunity.

Declan had some concern.

Time for a snack.

He was quite pleased until Chase caught on to the arrangement.

Chase checked Declan's toes, helped himself to Declan's snack and....

Brought toys to the table. Chase sort of broke all the rules. Haha.

And when he wasn't *helping with Declan, he was re-arranging the fridge. Such a good assistant.

All in all, it was a nice evening for everyone involved.
