The cold wind really took us by surprise for this race. It was a minor form of torture for the spectators. I missed Quinten and Colby at the starting line. But grabbed their finish. Another successful race for both of them.
As luck would have it (you know: Will's luck). He missed his race. So he ran with the Grade 5s instead. He ran 2 km and didn't come in last. For this, he is awesome!
Then there's Logan. He had not been part of the Cross Country running group (The Club team) because Flag Football always conflicted. But now that Flag Football had concluded, Logan jumped onto the team for our home race. If I can digress;
He ran the school Divisional race in September and placed 13th. The top 10 went to Zones and he was super choked for missing the cut. But it was a learning experience for him as it's the first time he experienced the art of pacing yourself...and exactly what it feels like to run 2km non-stop.
We both thought he'd have to wait until next year to try his hand at another race. But we were mistaken.
He ran, he improved,
And he placed FOURTH!! Tried, tested, and true.
Game on, for next year!
Good running boys.
