Here are our first moments in Las Vegas, on the 37th Floor of our Hotel. We made it a 3 day get-away (sans kids) so I could attend a Trade Show for wedding decor. It was really nice living my alter ego I headed out to work for the day in the big city. Ryan worked from (what felt like) our Penthouse Suite.
In the afternoon I would bring him a frozen yogurt home. In the evenings we would dine out and grab a show. Cirque de Soliel is always my go-to. We attended Love. It was amazing as usual.
It was nice to hang out with no juggling of kids. It was also nice to enjoy each other's company - we had many great laughs. I'm thankful for Mom Richards watching the kids so this could happen.

Our hotel had 3 pools. Only two are pictured here. It makes sense that one pool just wouldn't suffice for a 3 tower, 37 floor facility. However, our February 10 to 13th trip did not present weather warm enough for me to want to take an outdoor dip.
Here is a view of my Public Transat for the 3 days. It was so effcient and free of crowds - my two favorite features.
And wouldn't you guess it. On my first day, I got lost walking from the train to the Convention Centre. Of course, leave it to me to find the Loading Dock access for the Convention Centre before I find the Front Doors. The nature of my business often has me using the Loading Bays of venues. I really wanted to just walk through this side BECAUSE these buildings are the size of 3 regular city blocks. It was faster for me to back track on my steps rather than walk the exterior perimeter of the building.
Once inside, there were exhibits for everything you can imagine. This one is for the boys. I found an upgrade for the go cart. This one would send the go cart airborne. When I told the boys they said, "You should have got it!"
And then there is the pleasure part of the visit to Las Vegas. The Bellagio never disappoints with their water show.
Ryan rode the Roller Coaster at New York, New York.
We took a romantic walk (everywhere) but especially along the Venetian.
We took a drive to check out the Las Vegas Temple. It was so nice to visit.
I told Will there was nothing interesting in Vegas. He would have been bored by shops like the Sugar Factory. He growled at me for rubbing this one in with my Sarcasm.
We watched the longest TV screen I have ever seen. And something within it caught my eye. I made the boys find that point of interest. *Go-Flames-Go!*
We attended Serendipitys through recommendation. Everything is bigger and better in Las Vegas. The Frozen Hot Chocolate was wonderful.
AND we took a road trip to the Hoover Dam. Here is a bridge we drove past on the way in. Such an amazing structure.
Don't quote me, but I think we were told that this bridge was completed in 2011 and was over time and over budget. Consider this a modern day project and then compare it to the Late Day Project of the Hoover Dam.
We took an escalator (and then an elevator) down, into the Hoover Dam. It was a long way down.
We walked through tunnels. Slightly daunting.

The development of the Hoover Dam created Lake Mead. The largest man made lake of it's time.

This was the most facinating tour I have ever taken. The Hoover Dam was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. It's strength over compensates for what it is required to support. Truly genius - especially considering it was built in the 1930s.
This is a Must See (in my opinion).
