Nice Mom

So the story begins with a little girl that seems to mimic most of my moves.

It's sort of fun to have a fan - you know, as a result, I feel like a celebrity.

Well, I realized it wasn't all about me. It seems she's happy to pick-up a trait from any family member. This, labeled: phone on the hip, is to be "like Daddy."

On numerous occasions she finds a skimpy outfit to change into, then visits the closet for some shiny new basketball shoes. This day, the outfit was a little more modest. But the story, still the same. Sadie and Mom spent tons of time out on the road in January. We made special trips to the school and even found 1.5 hours to kill while waiting to watch swimming. In this cold climate we live, it brings a tropical feel for the moment.

Quinten's front float
It was SO cute to watch Will with his swimming teacher. No picture. BUT you must know, Will is a fish. Well, sort of more like a Sting Ray. He glides along the bottom swimming smooth as can be. He's competely comfortable and sometimes doesn't realize his own limitations. Hence, why I show up to observe/preserve. Will's teacher asked him to relax (not a problem) and perform a starfish like backfloat. She supported him, he lay in the water exactly as requested and completely comfortable. The teacher supported him into position and then removed her hand of support. The result: He Sunk. She laughed and shook her head. I believe her mannerisms were telling me he's buoyancy disabled.

Colby's back float:
Colby and Quinten were invited to a Mario Birthday Party.
Well, we thought, why not arrive in the true spirit.

You must know though, at the same time Sadie was desperately trying to get into this picture because - well, it's cool to be captured in pictures at our house. But no, her Mom was basically holding her back with a hand and foot ... because it just wouldn't fit with the theme of what we were trying to capture. Sooooo...

....this is the result.
And I came to the conclusion that this is the performance of a child who was being ignored - even shooed away - by her Mom. Honestly, I was a little shocked. This was new to me. I kinda didn't understand how it was able to carry on as it did. So, why not ask her to say "Cheese"
I pulled her up by an arm. Stood her on her feet and gave her a 3 sentance pep talk (a.k.a. the attention she requested) and was able to capture the real lady again. Phew.
