See the beautiful Chocolate Brown Chair Cover I ordered for a September event? It's exactly as I had expected.
How do you like the chocolate brown table cloths? !!!
This did not shake me up. It just annoyed me.
For the purpose of understanding I will now share with you some family lingo:
Grey and White.
Grey for our Grey Suburban and White for our the other.
We ordered railing for our deck. The day came for us to pick the material up. It's a Friday afternoon, Ryan cuts out of work early to meet the 3:30 pm pick up time. (The shop closes at 4:30 pm). Of course, it is across the city from us. En route, Ryan traveling the Deerfoot has the "Engine Power Reduced" Warning light light up on the dash. Naturally he's traveling in the fast lane. He pulls across all lanes of traffic and stops in a trucker stop. By our definition, the vehicle status is broken down. I load up the 6 kids to rescue him. I'm not in a hurry because I figure we can just pick-up Saturday morning....that is, until I find out they are closed on the weekend.
We arrive at 4:32 pm (after having left updated messages with the office) with 6 kids, across the city in rush hour traffic and the shop tells us they are not able to serve us. Ryan walks out very disappointed and I sit in the car texting our mechanic - who really is our new best friend. The delay of our departure allows a man from the office to approach us in the parking lot and tell us he can help. Sigh of relief! We wanted to get started on this weekend project!
He then tells us never to arrive at closing on a Friday night again. In my head, I sarcastically respond, "Okay."
Then came the worrisome drive home. Yes, somewhere in this cargo picture are 6 children.
Ryan returned to the truck stop later that night and drove Grey home at 30 km per hour. That was a time consuming commute.
Chase loves to roam on his own. Too bad for him, he has twin brothers ready to rescue him and his sippy cup...and return him back to his idle, soccer viewing MOM.

Pretty wedding right? I sure did a good job. Too bad this wasn't the bride's chosen color. Yeh, she wanted Light Pink. Not Hot Pink. This one rocked my world. I was ready to throw in the towel and move somewhere far away from civilization.
See anything wrong with this picture? White needed warranty work done on the transmission. Sad that it wasn't running at optimum performance but good that the work was free!
So we got the work done and white was running great. Then the starter fell out. Apparently mechanics doing warranty work don't worry too much about re-installing the parts they remove to do the work. Please note, this is not our "friend" mechanic.
So, back to the shop again, to get them to fix their mistake. And then this happens to Grey. So much for free work.
And the story doesn't end there. About two weeks later, the gear shifter on White disengages and presents White to be inoperable. Until my Dad comes and saves the day. A locking pin had not been re-installed after the warranty work. I was only 1.5 hours late setting up the hot pink wedding. Looking back that was the critical 1.5 hours I should have realized my packing mistake.
But that's not all.... last week White started making a flapping noise when driving. Another part, not replaced, nor secured correctly had broken free and was connecting with the rotating tires.
You have to understand, every time something goes wrong, we park the vehicle until our good friend the mechanic can diagnose and often fix the problems. 1 vehicle is sometimes a little tricky ... and even inconvenient. These are the times when I scream (in my head) "Hit me with another!"
And my wish is granted.
Remember the fantastic May Long Weekend I shared? This was our first night. Colby also vomitted all night long. Thankfully, we were visiting Great Gramma and Grampa Richards. I was able to wash up all the linens and we were back on the road without a hiccup. Had we been in the trailer, in the middle of nowhere; well then we would be dealt lemons.
I hung out in the sunny south while I watched and wondered just how wet Calgary was getting. A little less of a lemon for me on this one.
I diagnose the fact that Logan had a bacterial infection. Of course, this is all in hind sight. He was in alot of pain and it was pretty worrisome.
I predict that the bacteria entered his system sometime in the previous two weeks after having an orthodontic procedure done which left his entire gum line as an open sore. Pretty good conclusion right? Yeh, I thought so too. Until Sadie presented with the identical condition 2 weeks later where she missed her first day of soccer. There is no picture of Sadie because I wasn't around to take one.

Logan attached the bike trailer (for toddlers to the back of his bike). Quinten and Colby jumped in for a great ride. That lasted for a while until a deadly combination was hatched. Q and C were centered, Q was squatting and C was standing. Logan sharply turned, flipped the bike trailer and sent the twins flying. Quinten landed face first and Colby was cushioned by Quinten.
Finally, construction and a detour delay me leaving the community. This is 15 wasted minutes I will never get back. It sure seemed a whole lot longer though.
