May Montana Long Weekend

We drove a little further than the typical May Long Campers. But we enjoyed a little piece of Heaven, so it didn't matter one bit.

We nestled into a corner of the forest. The kids hiked through the trees, rode their bikes (which includes Logan riding Sadie's tricyle), met new friends from Invermere and Logan and Will enjoyed their new pocket knives (Me; not so much). How do you like the collection of bikes? It's time consuming to pack.

And the side Yard is the home of our friendly neighborhood deer.

Well, I sometimes wonder as I spend as much time packing and unpacking as I do having fun. But these little people, they'll have memories to last a lifetime. And I know this because we have dealt with feelings of end of vacation blues. Colby came out of his room sobbing the first night we were home saying, "I just want to go back camping"

We were driving around exploring in Big Fork when Ryan says, let's follow that car that looks like the S. Family. I replied, "It probably is the S. Family!! This is their regular stomping grounds." And so, we were back to Lake Blaine for some fishing.  If you look closely you can see Colby laying on the dock looking down into the water. Quinten is watching the cast of C.S.

An analysis of the catch. I think they caught 3 but the third bounced off Quinten's face and back into the water. No joke.

Another piece of heaven.

I cannot think of anything better. Chase is thinking he can. He'd like to be down playing in the rocks, sand and crawling the dock.

We return to our humble abode for a BBQ. Nothing wrong with that.

No need to take a break from biking long enough to remove your helmet.

We also took a Sunday drive and drove the whole perimeter of Flathead Lake.

It was gorgeous. We stopped in a few State Parks as well.

In our campground Sadie excitingly announces that her Dad's Boat has arrived. He does not dispute. The boat was purchased in Arizona for an Albertan. Not us. Haha.

It was a good time and Chase continues to be a wonderful traveler. The trick: raise your child in his car seat and it will become their favorite place.

The Honey Bee Farm

Sadie's Class visited the Honey Bee Farm. The tour spoke like they were conducting an adult tour.

Regardless of how the tour was conducted, Sadie was able to digest the information. Ever since the trip, she quotes that the Queen Bees do all the work.

And scores all the goals! No joke, all the parents are shocked and constantly commenting as she runs through the crowd, steals the ball and runs to the end of the field....over, and over again. Whoops, this little sister to 4 older brothers lacks any sense of intimidation.

Hair Today. Gone Tomorrow.

Hockey Hair! Isn't it great! I remember with my first boy I wanted to cut his hair so quickly so he could maintain is masculine appearance. With my last little boy, I want to celebrate every little feature as long as possible. And yes, some have asked if he is a boy or a girl.

 Look at those lovely wings.

 With all my other kids, I could just trim while they played in the bath. With this mover and shaker I finally gave up and wrapped my legs around him to take care of business. Sadie was sure to arrive to help with the entertainment distraction factor.
