Blessed Baby

We scheduled Sadie's Baby Blessing for November 16, 2008.
On Wednesday November 12th Logan was visiting at the kitchen table after school and was itching. I asked him to lift his shirt and my skeptical mind did not want to believe that the 3 spots on his belly might be the start of chicken pox. We hoped for the best but upon his presentation on Thursday morning; there was no mistaking it.
This meant a quick, last minute juggle and updated invitation. Location: Our home. Time change to the afternoon and attendance decrease by 75% (perhaps a slight exaggeration :)
Man, we sure know how to scare our visitors away.
One special note I'd like to mention, in an attempt to remember is that on the day of Sadie's special day she slept in until 11:30 am. Of course, she had stirred in bed enough to warrant a feeding at 7am but then definitely took advantage of her beauty sleep. Once she awoke we fed her, bathed her, dressed her pretty and had a really nice afternoon. We love you little angel.

Our Bishop made the comment about how we had a large family. We had to secretly giggle because if he only saw full attendance we may have given him true reason for his comment. None the less, here's a picture of our family dinner. A very quiet and relaxing dinner (compared to what it could have been). We're sorry to have scared all the cousins away. We look forward to Christmas dinner to be together again.

Mom took the opportunity to utilize a skill which hasn't been accessed for quite a while. Having a daughter has been so nice to make an excuse to sew something pretty for a special occasion. Everyone talks about how retailers provide such cute cloths for little girls. But I definitely had trouble finding something I liked and I'm sentimental... so it only made sense to take some extra time to make something special for her special day.
