We practiced our camping skills. Well really, who am I kidding; the boys practiced. I just watched. The motivation is that Will is preparing to be a Cub Scout this September. Grampa taught the boys how to start a fire. Logan built a log cabin with a Teepee above. His fire was so high that Grampa had to raise the tarp above so the fire didn't burn right through.
Colby built a checker board square with an X to mark the spot.
We also bought a tent. The boys slept in true camping style.
We love the water sports. Let the fun begin!
Sadie was just as spunky as the boys. She'd take her hands off the handles and raise them in the air. If only she knew what falling would feel like. I think she'd cling a little tighter.
After I explained to her what might happen, she had a consistent hold....and proceeded to lecture her brothers the distance across the lake.
New definition for Windshield Factor
Getting some air is always fun.
Nice Hair Logan
Kids make the funniest faces.
Quinten cracks me up.
This year, I was beginning to think it was the same 'ol vacation. But when reviewing the pictures it really highlights the fun and the memories to last a lifetime.
Ryan took Logan golfing for the first time. Logan was a natural. Uh oh!
He par'ed the 3rd hole!
While they golfed we went searching for golf balls and found 14 in 2 trips.
A view of golf
A view of the audience
There they go (with Guy). Not "a guy." Guy is his name. He works with Grampa.
Ryan stated that he'd like to take Logan for another round. He said it like it was an act off service. *snicker* This is that round.
Now, my Mom took this picture. I'm not sure why she wanted her husband's head cut off. We may never know. But this is the best picture of their round.
And our day wouldn't be complete without a visit to Sheri's to see Yoda.
Sheri is great. She bought Yoda at a charity auction for $400 because she had to have him!
It was fun to watch the float plane land and take off.
Helicopter take offs are fun too.
It's that time again. HaPpY BiRtHdAy to our fun loving, life running, crazy, sweet, curious, smiley twins. Quinten started his day off with me saying, "Mom, don't you have something you want to say to me?"
Grandma gave them their gift in the morning (so they could use it during the day).
Little characters.
And now they can put their snorkling gear in action.
Grandpa shares his birthday with Colby and Quinten every year. Last year, Colby stated he was going to have his birthday on a different day...so he could have a birthday all to himself. Surprisingly, this year no one was willing to delay their special day. So here they are. Sharing once again.
And the fun continues. This time with Chase. He's seen here sporting his swim gear.
Now, his Mom never intended him to actually use his swim gear to its full potential.
But his Dad had a different idea. Phase 1.
Phase 2.
Phase 3. And the evidence suggests Chase didn't intend to use his swim gear either. It's all in good fun until someone gets WeT!
Ai Matey.
So, Logan's Birthday is at the end of September. That's boring when you deserve a fun summer toy. So he received his birthday present early.
And here's the wakeboard in use.
Ryan worked to improve his skills.
Here's the best wipe out of the season. Ha Ha.
So I'm sure you wish you could see more. But please know, the real wakeboarders have a high tow bar to allow the momentum to take them higher. Here's Ryan's low tow bar. He's happy to take whatever he can get though.
Here's more. Not height of jumps, just quantity of jumps).
This layout was chopped at the bottom BUT I don't want to take the time to fix it...so use your imagination.
The kids are always really good at making their own fun. They found a board at the beach and used it to launch.
Head's Up! Kids ducking totally makes me laugh.
Then we must be like beavers and make a dam. This would be the time to swim in the lake since the cold strean water was at a stand still.
Imagine the swim hole temperature. No ThAnK YoU.
We're not as talented as beavers because the dam is starting to give way.
Will snorkeling
Then to be a little different. We went to the waterslides. This is something I have never done ... so ... again, this is the first adventure for everyone except Ryan.
Good times!
Here's a picture of a set-up for Sadie to nap. It didn't work.
But the next process did.
Chase had fun visiting with Grandma on thebeach.
This is the life! Summer Sleep...
Sleep ... and more sleep.
And now, it's time to pack up.
We had a great time. Even the one rainy day where the kids spent the day in the tent watching movies was memorable. And, yes, that is the generation our kids are growing up in. When you can set-up to watch movies in a tent ! Summer is truly the most wonderful time of the year. Until next summer ...

Love the pics Jenn. Glad you had a great summer.
Your summer looked amazing. Loads and loads of fun.
Fun Fun Fun! I need to try wakeboarding. Whenever Roewyn saw a picture of Sadie she would say "and that's me. Oh nope, that's Sadie". And you should really cut the boys hair :) It will be interesting to see how long Logan will let it get, and how he will look.
