We are playing tour guide to Tori. Which is super fun. We were nervous she wouldn't like it...or we'd be too much for her ... or we'd be too boring ... but she seems to be loving every minute.
We have walked miles of beach, attended a Spanish rodeo, body surfed, boarded, saved 150 baby turtles, played in the pool, slept in the sun, introduced one cute baby boy to Costa Rica and found out we have a water baby. Here's a sneak peak until we can tell more.
Our Tropical Princess.
And she swims too. We love the water and it's especially fun watching our kids grow up enjoying it too.
The boys fell in love with the ocean this year. The surf provided hours of entertainment for all ages.
And you don't always need to be in the water to enjoy the day. There was beauty all around us. Sadie also enjoyed the sand. Like Tori says, "Thanks for ruining the lake experience." Nothing can compete with this.
From the moment this guy hit the water he was giggling. Some babies have had to be inched in. Not this guy. Instant love for the water.
He kicked and splashed until he'd soaked himself.
Walkers are not permitted in Cananda. But this Canadian LOVED the Costa Rican walker. He was so fun to watch him scooting around. It was amazing to watch how quickly he learned to manouver around corners. He pulled Grampa and Gramma's garbage over about 5 times.
Bath time!
This. Is. The. Life.
And such a life can be rather tiring.
Sadie practiced her back float.
Jenn got out surfing. Totally kidding. Jenn just watched some guy get out surfing.
Jorge shared his quads. When Logan was handed the controls, he was described as very conservative. This means I will share my car keys with Logan some day. Will, not. so. much.
Sadie had the choice to ride with her Dad, or with Jorge. Guess who she chose?
The twins shirts read 2 Fast. Rather fitting.
The hammock is always a favorite place to Siesta.
Mermaid Sadie, created by Tori.
Could this be the equivalent of a Mud Bath?
Lobster is in season. This means a lobster feast. Before:
After.
This was taken on the day of our morning walk. We walked from 9:30 am until 1 pm. All along the miles of beach.
Watch out kids, here comes a wave.
Perhaps one of the most memorable features of this trip is the Grapefruit tree. We picked over 50 and I had 5 on one particular day. They were the most delicious I have ever tasted. I so badly want to buy some now that we are home ... but I know they won't compare. They are seriously an explosion of flavorful fruity goodness.
I love that we were fairly disconnected this trip. This allowed more focus on the great aspects of the country around us. And when Grandma needed to record a recipe into her iPhone ... the crowd gathered.
And made sure they had a turn showing Grampa the functionality.
It's about time Grampa installed a rope swing (which the boys tried to do), a waterslide and ... well ... why not ... how about some waves? The pool can get a little boring and so this allowed for opportunity to get the creative juices flowing. Logan and Will had a conversation at the bottom of the pool on the patio chairs AND here, Logan stacks 3 tubes and attempts a pencil jump. It totally worked.
Jolly Jumping Poolside is always fun.
Ice Cream. You will never understand how deliciously inexpensive this stuff is - until you travel to try it yourself.
The giant grasshopper that attacked Ryan. Numerous times. Tori and I were reading in the house and he came running down the path and through the gate like he was participating in the feature presentation of Jurassic Park.
So. Funny.
We kept hydrated.
Some experiencing it for the first time.
And a first experience with the sand was fun too!
Just a butterfly. Perhaps the Halloween variety.
Quinten's canon ball.
And wrapped up in his Aunt's girly towel. Some day I'm going to use this picture against him.
More amazing surf.
and Amazing Beach. You get the picture.
Amazing friends (babes born 1 week apart from one another). Chase, Michael and Joel.
Tori and my walk to Playa Negra and back again.
