So fun to watch!
This was a day to mark down in history.
Due to the fact that Logan has experience playing league basketball he was permitted to try out for the school Junior High basketball team. He's in Grade 6 and tried out with 17 other kids in Grade 7 and 8. I saw a small portion of his tryout and could not believe 1. How small he looked and 2. How much he is forecasted to grow in the next 2 years.
Well, because the story does not end you can probably predict that he made the team!
And then the season schedule arrives home.
It reads; first game of the season will be playing Red Deer Lake at Red Deer Lake. My school! How can this not be captured as a historical event.
Some things never change. It was good to be home. I found myself cheering for both teams.
Here is our cheering squad - or lack thereof. Haha.
One the sidelines. We didn't have very high hopes he would actually play.
One of my favorite teachers. A great coach and also happens to be refing Logan's game.
And there you have it! Logan is in to play!
And he even scored 2 baskets.
Logan says Mr. Molyneux saw everything! And called the game well. Hmm, maybe it's the years of experience. Or he's just an all round great guy. Likely all of the above.
The shock to be was the ability of some of the players on Logan's team.
Team huddle after a victory. It's going to be a great season.
